Ivermectin can now be purchased in Idaho just like Tylenol or ibuprofen, without the need for a prescription, after Gov. Brad Little signed a bill into law that permits ivermectin to be sold over the counter. Two other states, Arkansas and Tennessee, have passed similar legislation in 2025.

Note: Ivermectin is often recognized – 2nd to penicillin – for having the greatest impact on human health. And its discovery won the Nobel Prize in 2015. Important Tips When Selecting an online pharmacy:

• Check online reviews.
• Ask about pricing for prescriptions upfront and include shipping costs.
• Ask where your prescription is being shipped from.
• If your pharmacy is not willing to fill, many states require pharmacists to provide alternate locations or refer you to a pharmacy that can fill. They should not leave you hanging.
• Greater success with locals and independents.
• If possible, check out more than one online pharmacy and compare costs.
• Check the US Food & Drug Administration pharmacy inspection reports and related records here.

Treatment should start based on clinical suspicion as soon as possible, preferably within the first 3 days of symptoms. Perform PCR testing, but do not withhold treatment pending results.

 

Note that ivermectin is available in different strengths (e.g., 3, 6 or 12 mg) and administration forms (tablets, capsules, drops, etc.). Note that tablets can be halved for more accurate dosing, while capsules cannot. Most ivermectin tablets available in US are the 3 mg dose strength whereas those from India are normally in 12 mg strengths. If your pharmacist has the 12 mg strength tablets instead of 3 mg, you should only take one tablet a day instead of 4 tablets (if the dosage is 12 mg a day).
